Redesigning a Playground at 53 Sims Drive
We redefined how members of the community use the playground, to facilitate the bonds between care givers and children, and to blur the lines between exercise and play.

Research Question
How can the relationship between elderly and children be used to keep the elderly active while strengthening familial and community bonds?
Exercise through Play
With green hills blending into the court, and equipment spread across the landscape, we invite children and adults alike to exercise their creativity for a more integrated and fulfilling experience.
Demographic of Users
We redefine how passers, office workers and caretakers use the site for their unique needs.
Data Driven Solutions
We conducted an in depth site analysis to understand the roles the members of the community play in the site, through in person interviews of passersby and door to door interviews.
We also utilised spatial network analysis software such as DepthMapX and QGIS to gain an understanding of the surrounding area, in order to make informed data driven decisions that can translate into our redesign.
